Favourite kind of wood
Most people perceive wood as being warm, they like to touch it, look at it and sometimes we even knock on wood.
In short: people like wood. But what kind of wood in particular?
Pine and larch are common used in windows. For Twindows customers, we process a great deal of spruce, and over the years we have been processing more and more oak, maple, teak, wengé and walnut.
Spruce
Spruce is a simple, light-coloured wood with a uniform grain. No branches get in the way. We use wooden shafts that have undergone a three-fold adhesion process. Natural or with a transparent white glaze: Spruce just looks good.
Larch
Larches have a yellowish to reddish-white sapwood and a brownish-red core. Larch wood is popular in window construction because of its high level of durability. With our wood/aluminium windows, only the design aspect is significant because the outside is covered with aluminium anyway.
Elegant design
Oak, maple, teak, wengé and walnut.
These types of wood are currently in high demand. When we use walnut, for example, we use window shafts that leave the top layer on the inside visible. More and more customers are discovering design opportunities and match their entire interior design, i.e. floors, furniture and fabrics, to the wood surfaces of their windows.
